Kidney stones are one of the most common and painful urinary disease. The medical term for kidney stones is renal calculi.

What is Kidney Stone?

Kidney stones are solid mass that are developed from crystal aggregations. Bladder stones can form or pass into the urinary bladder.

Kidney Stones Symptoms

Kidney stones leave the body usually by the passage of the flow of urine, stones and many more are formatted and passed without causing symptoms. If stones grow to sufficient size before passage, at least on the order of 2-3 millimeters; they can cause obstruction of the ureter. The result is causing obstruction or stretching of the broad upper renal pelvis and ureter (the part of the kidney where urine collects before entering the ureter), and muscle spasm of the ureter, trying to move the stone. This causes pain; most commonly felt the shoulder, lower abdomen and groin. Renal colic can be associated with nausea or vomiting. Blood in the urine can be, visible with naked eye or under microscope due to damage to the lining of the urine tract.

Kidney Stones Causes

The formulation of kidney stones is the result of the weaknesses of the overall metabolism. Generally kidney infection occur, especially when concentrated urine in relation to heavy sweating or inadequate consumption of fluids. They are the result of a sedentary way of life. Another reason is unhealthy diet, excessive consumption of acid forming foods, white sugar products, meat, tea, coffee, spices and seasonings, and foods rich in overcapacity.

Kidney Stones Symptoms

Sometimes kidney stones do not cause any symptoms. Typically, the first symptoms of kidney stone is extreme pain, which begins suddenly when a stone moves in urine tract and blocks the flow of urine. Typically, a person feels a sharp, cramping pain in my back and side area of the kidney or lower abdomen. Sometimes nausea or vomiting occurs. Later, pain may spread to the groin.

If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain continues as the muscles of the wall of the narrow ureter try to squeeze the stone into the bladder. Like a stone moves and the body tries to push it, blood may appear in the urine, making the urine pink. As the stone moves down the ureter, closer to the bladder, a person may feel the need to urinate more often or feel burning sensation during urination.

If fever and chills accompany any of these symptoms, injury may be present. In this case, the person needs to contact a doctor immediately.
